ON LINE TRAINING

Your training starts online where you will learn all the important information about learning to scuba. Everything from the equipment you will use, the diving environment, the effects of depth and the skills you will learn in the water.

POOL OR CONFINED WATER TRAINING

You will spend a lot of time in the pool (or pool like conditions) training and practicing at your own pace. This will make you very comfortable before you dive into the ocean.

In particular we make sure you learn to control your buoyancy as it is essential to diving safely, comfortable and allows you to glide through the water with ease.

OPEN WATER DIVES

After your pool or confined water sessions, you’ll head to open water, where you and your RAID instructor will take you on a minimum of four scuba dives, usually over two to three days. You’ll apply the skills you learned in the pool as well as having plenty of time for exploring the local dive site.

DURATION

The RAID Open Water 20 Course takes about 3-4 days depending on local conditions and how much time you need to feel safe and comfortable in the water.

INCLUSIONS/EXTRAS

It is recommend you own the essential items like mask, snorkel and fins. Exposure protection may be provided by the dive centre but it is highly recommended that you purchase your own exposure equipment. Before you buy, make sure you speak to your RAID dive centre to get the equipment that is right for you. Most of the other items are generally provided for your course but make sure you ask your RAID Dive Centre.
